Yohan Blake Out And Injured, Fraser- Pryce In, For The Doha 2013 Diamond League.............................

The organizers of the Doha 2013 Diamond League have announced the inclusion of another brilliant athlete to the lineups of World champions that will be at this year’s meeting. She is no other than the 100m Olympic and World Champion Shelly- Ann Fraser- Pryce. This news came hours after the bad news about the injury of Yohan Blake.
Unfortunately, reigning world 100m champion Yohan Blake has withdrawn from the Doha 2013 Diamond League. MRI scans revealed that the injury he sustained at an athletics meeting in Jamaica last week will keep him on the side- lines for a few weeks.

“I have always wanted to run in Doha, when I got the opportunity I was over the moon. Unfortunately I have to withdraw because of a slight injury, but these things do happen. I was looking forward because I have never been there and also because I wanted the people to see what a beast I am on the track. I guess there is always next year. I am sorry for not coming but I will be there next time for sure if God allows it,” said Blake.
QAF President and Doha Meeting Director Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad expressed his sympathy for Blake’s bad luck and promised fans in Doha that it won’t take long to see Jamaica’s talented star back on track:
“I have been officially informed that Yohan Blake is not able to compete in Doha 2013 meeting due to an injury he sustained while competing at a meeting in Jamaica. I am truly wishing him a speedy recovery and I am sure that he will be back in full strength to fulfil his 2013 goals. We hope to see Yohan in Doha next year.”
Blake may be out of Doha 2013 but the Organising Committee is happy to be able to announce another big star, Shelly- Ann Fraser- Pryce, 100m double Olympic Champion and World Champion.

The 26- year- old Jamaican is considered the best 100m dash runner of nowadays. She has only been defeated once since 2008 in any major event and that was at the 2011 World Championship. She is the fourth fastest female sprinter of all- time with a personal record of 10.70 from 2012.
This will be Fraser- Pryce’s second appearance in Doha, after finishing behind Allyson Felix in last year’s 100m race. At this year event she will be lining up for the 200m race, an event in which she won an Olympic silver at the London Olympics Games.
