It was a hot day and he was sweaty, so he decided to wash himself in the park water fountain, in front of little children.
A 40-year-old man, was arrested after he allegedly washed his genitals in a Northwest Portland park drinking water fountain.
A witness told police that Jamie Todd Hensler, of Portland, tried to talk to children and launch a water balloon at them around 8:14 am Monday at Couch Park on Northwest Glisan Street.
Hensler then began to undress, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, a spokesman for the police department, and began to wash his genitals in the park drinking water fountain. The children were playing about 10 feet away, said Simpson.
Hensler was arrested and imprisoned in the Multnomah County Jail. He was charged with abusing a drinking water source, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. He also was issued an exclusion order from the park.
In a separate incident was is accused of assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and endangering another person.
He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
